Work hardening analysis in a lean duplex stainless Steel 2304 after low deformation by cold rolling

The deformation mechanism of lean duplex stainless steel (LDSS) is overly complex not only by their dual phase microstructure, but also due to metastable austenite, which can deform different mechanisms and transform martensite strain. purpose this study was investigate the tensile test on low deformed cold-rolled samples (4%-22%) a 2304 LDSS. microstructure analyzed X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, electron backscattered diffraction transmission microscopy. It observed formation mechanical twinning, ε-martensite, α’-martensite evidenced TRIP effect. strain hardening rate calculated Holomon Crussard-Jaoul modeling together with instantaneous exponent, three operating were observed: dislocations slipping, induced (SIM). Brass texture had compromised SIM transformation. fractography analysis specimens showed quasi-cleavage occurrence, dimples for range pre-deformation.
